•         Victor Azer, stained glass artist, was born in Egypt. His father, a sculptor, recognized his son’s early talent with glass and sent him to the University of Alexandria where he received his B.F.A. in Fine Arts. Victor operated a studio in Egypt for three years before moving to the United States in 1997.

   

          In New York Victor has worked on a variety of assignments, including restoration work of Tiffany stained glass windows. Now located in Waltham, Agape Stained Glass Studio restores, repairs and creates custom designs for residential homes, all places of worship, public buildings and commercial establishments. Victor’s specialty is custom design and historic restoration.

   

       Specifically, Azer designs stained glass for doors, windows, skylight and custom cabinetry panels. He incorporates symbols and portraits to personalize the design for his clients.       

I love color! The first thing I think about when designing a piece is how to put the colors together. Glass is an exciting way to deal with color because the pallet is endless and you have the added benefit of light. When the glass transmits or reflects light, many exciting effects can be achieved. I also play with glass as a texture which enhances the effects of light. Nature also plays a large part in my design process. I'm fascinated by the textures of natural substances and their color and lines. Imitating nature in its many forms and taking it apart and reconstructing it is an endless source of pleasure for me.
